Tom's Wood Boxes by Tom Mason

Tom Mason has loved wood for a lifetime.  He was finally able to dedicate his time to creating beautiful works of wood after retiring from the U.S. Postal Service.  Tom graduated from Southwest Missouri Tom's Wood Boxes by Tom MasonState University in 1980 with a degree in writing.  He searched for years for an outlet for his creativity, writing for magazines and creating furniture for his family. One of his first pieces of furniture was a bed for his daughter Beth.   His daughter Bridget, who makes handmade jewelry, was responsible for Tom finally settling on boxes.  Bridget asked her father to make a few boxes for a show in which she was a participant.  The boxes were such a success that a second career as a box maker was born.  Tom was honored this year with the Best of Show award at the Bella Vista Arts festival in Bella Vista, Arkansas. Tom has also recently been chosen as a juried member of the Best of Missouri Hands. Tom is married to Susan Mason and they share a life on a farm near Norwood, Missouri.
