Welcome to a new Best of Missouri Hands year—2012
You, our members, are the backbone of this organization and we appreciate your involvement and support.
As your new President, and with the help of your new board of directors, I look forward to continuing the great work started by Peggy King, retiring board president and other retiring board members. We are anticipating a year of exciting changes and improvements, all of which we believe will make the organization even more meaningful to our great artistic community. Our goal is to develop programs and venues that will enhance the value BOMH brings to its juried and non-juried members, while maintaining the integrity of our vision and mission.
We are looking forward to a successful 2012 Annual ArtSmart conference which will be held on March 9, 10, 11,2012 and we hope to see you there.
ArtSmart is a three-day annual educational conference featuring nationally known speakers, educational programs and vast networking opportunities with other artists, gallery owners and many other professionals in the artistic world. This year our featured speaker is Jason Horejs and our scheduled workshops are designed to benefit new and experienced artists. This conference is open to the public. Location: Inn at Grand Glaize, Osage Beach, Missouri. See PDF on this page and registration
Some of the activities that are sure to help you take your creativity to a new level are: “The Perfect Composition, ” Friday Night Frolics, Artisan Showcase, ArtSmart Resource Table, The Beast of Missouri, Support the ArtSmart Scholarship Fund and Photo Sessions with Don Casper.
The Best of Missouri Hands offers scholarships to cover conference fees to those members in need so that anyone can attend these educational programs. Additionally, in 2007, the board initiated a continuing Education Scholarship available to an applicant who demonstrates a desire to further expand his or her knowledge of art at other art conferences.
I wish to express my thanks to those retiring board members, committee chairs and to 2012 current board and committees. It is my pleasure to acknowledge the dedication of those who served, and of course and huge thank you to Peggy King who served us well as President, 2010- 2011. We have many leaders in the BOMH community who generously give of their time and talents and support. Their advice and insightfulness are a valuable resource to this organization.
