Linda has always been interested in working with her hands; but her hobbies shifted several times over the years until she moved to Mid-Missouri from Iowa where she found her true passion; photography. It started with one camera and one lens, then grew to another camera and another lens, then more lenses as her subject matter grew.
Although her passion is outdoor photography, she has been influenced by family members that are artists looking for specific subject matter to paint. This has allowed Linda to stretch her abilities from photographing the wonders of nature to photographing people; adults and children, and at times their pets. "The lenses come in handy photographing pets that decide at the last minute that maybe they don't want the close up shot that I want and try to lunge for my nose." "Photography has helped me develop an eye for detail, and my powers of observation. I used to drive down the street and see the speed limit signs and the officers enforcing the speed limit, now I see owls in trees or on fence posts, hawks guarding their nests, or old farm houses and barns whose history is imbedded in the walls, doors, and what's left of the front porches." Linda is a member of the Lake Arts Photography Club, and the Best of Missouri Hands, and is a Best of Missouri Hands Juried Artist. She has won awards for her photographs at Photo Quests. Her photographs can be found in many private collections, corporate offices, and government buildings. Linda's photographs can also be found at the Art Bazaar, and YO YUMS in Jefferson City, Missouri. Her photographs can be used in many ways; prints for a wall, clocks and cutting boards, and note or greeting cards.
